Finally, our spring gardens are coming into bloom. It seems like it takes forever due to our long, cold winters.
Soon, it will be planting season. We have started uncovering the perenniel herbs, and raking out last winter's debris. It is so lovely to see green again. The daffodils are in bloom, and the crocus' are coming up. The bearded iris have started on their way to be beautiful.
The only problem. Chickens. This year they seem to take delight in "bathing" in my garden by the back door. I planted a few perenniels there last year, and I was hoping that they would come back. Out of all the gardens they could bathe in, I don't know why they chose this one.
In a couple weeks, we will start tilling the soil for our vegetable and flower gardens. Again this year, we will expand the gardens to include more produce. New this year too, will be cut flowers.
Ah, I can't wait to walk barefoot in the gardens again.
